McDonald's is being sued for "misleading the public about the ingredients in its French fries". Debra Moffatt of Lombard, Ill., seeks unspecified damages for her celiac disease, which causes gastrointestinal symptoms set off by eating gluten, a protein found in wheat. This, they said is traced in McDonald's fries. More story here.
Misleading the public as to ingredients, features, etc. is a violation also found in the Consumer Act of the Philippines RA 7394, particularly in its article 50.
We Filipinos are simply too patient and too kind even to super-earners companies.
Smart Wifi is guilty of this breach of trust, this deceptive sales acts. It is advertising a service that is good on paper but has actually gave me numerous and irreparable damages. For example, for this month, I had barely 36% connection, as per letter of complaint to its customer care that was not challenged. If the 12 days (of 19) of disconnection is not a clear manifestation of poor service and poorer quality of product, I don't know what else will qualify as such.
If this happened in the US, they would be eating lawsuits already.
If this happens again, they would not be eating at all. Anymore.
